~ OUR STAFF ~
Executive Director - Sasha Best:
Sasha is the founder and Executive Director of the Texoma Children's Museum. It is through her dedicated belief in Children's Museums that TCM exists today. From the Museum's day to day facility operations, fundraising and grantwriting, or promoting the TCM, Sasha is involved. Husband Shane and all four of their children (Summer, Emma, Jakob, & Kaleb) have all worked hard to make TCM what it is today. Sasha has also developed a strong working relationship with Association of Children's Museums. This year Sasha was able to play a significant role in ACM's National InterActivity conference in Philadelphia, serving as Chair for Emerging Museums Pre-Conference & presenting sessions on Museum Mentorships and Community Partnerships.
The Volunteer Staff:
Teresa Scott - Teresa is all about art! She is responsible for the bright multi-cultural mural in the Celebration room and the creation of the Children's Art Gallery. From catering 2007's Cinco de Mayo Festival to the rooms renovation and decoration - The Children's Art Gallery is Teresa's labor of love. Husband Greg frequently acts as TCM's handi-man; most recently completing the exhibit partitions and front desk. Daughter Skyler is also a Museum fan, ready to help when ever Mom or Dad might need a hand!
Alison Schneider - Blooming wysteria, painted renaissance stone-work, a pastoral butterfly bathroom make-over are just a few examples of Alison's talent. She prefers to be 'behind the scenes', but Alison doesn't shy away from festival booths, bake sales, or leading a field trip if it's for the Museum. Husband Mark has worked on many of the handiman projects within the Museum; helping complete some of Alison's favorite projects: the Children's Theatre and the Snack Bistro. Daughters Haley and Abby frequently welcome museum visitors & help care for the animals.
Skip & Jeannie Summers - Front desk regulars, both of the Summers provide important service to the Museum. Skip serves as the front desk staff Thursday and Friday afternoons, as well as the occasional Field Trip leader. A retiree, he enjoys his time with the Museum families and watching the Museums progress. Jeannie runs TCM the first Saturday of the month. Jeannie is also the Museums Volunteer Coordinator, recruiting and coordinate Museum volunteers. Jeannie also bakes and decorates the delicious cakes for the deluxe Museum b-day parties.
